Conversions to LPG or ethanol, as well as carbon cleaning procedures, require a high level of precision and traceability. These procedures must ensure safety, verify the proper functioning of engine cycles and provide tangible evidence of the effectiveness of the work carried out.<\/p>\n<p>Whether in terms of performance, fuel consumption or safety, professionals must be able to rely on reliable data and tools capable of automating these checks without complicating field operations.<\/p>\n<h2>An operational requirement that has become central to the industry<\/h2>\n<p>The rise of alternative fuels and engine cleaning technologies has led to growing demand for systems capable of monitoring operations in real time. Operators must be able to confirm that engine sequences following retrofitting are running correctly, that operating ranges remain within the specified tolerances, and that every action complies with the safety standards imposed by manufacturers.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, engine cleaning professionals must be able to control the actuators, monitor the entire cleaning cycle and demonstrate its effectiveness using objective data. It is against this backdrop that Dunasys was commissioned to design a unified solution capable of meeting these two complementary needs.<\/p>\n<p><!-- notionvc: cc8ee425-05a8-4e78-bb99-314f98585915 --><\/p>\n<h2>Our solution<\/h2>\n<p>Dunasys has developed a smart on-board unit designed to monitor engine performance in real time and automate all stages of the quality control process. This solution, deployed across workshop networks, is based on an advanced telematics architecture that collects, analyses and transmits key data relating to service operations.<\/p>\n<p>The system is structured around two complementary modes, designed to address the specific requirements of retrofit and decarbonisation operations.<\/p>\n<h2>The \u201cRetrofit\u201d mode<\/h2>\n<p>In the context of conversions to LPG or alternative fuels, the unit monitors the engine running-in process to verify that the vehicle\u2019s performance remains compliant following modification. It analyses operating ranges, monitors safety sequences and automatically detects any engine anomalies that may indicate a non-compliant conversion or a setting requiring optimisation. Thanks to this continuous monitoring, operators can quickly confirm the success of the conversion whilst ensuring the safety of the vehicle and the end user.<\/p>\n<h2>\u201cDescaling\u201d mode<\/h2>\n<p>For descaling operations, the system automatically controls the motor actuators throughout the process. It ensures that sequences are carried out correctly and verifies, with supporting data, that the cycles comply with specifications after cleaning. At the end of the procedure, a detailed efficiency report enables the measurement of gains observed in terms of efficiency, fuel consumption and overall performance. This approach provides complete transparency for the end customer and enhances the credibility of the operation.<\/p>\n<h2>Results &amp; Added Value<\/h2>\n<p>The solution developed by Dunasys directly contributes to improving engine energy efficiency whilst reducing fuel consumption following the service. It also allows for rapid adaptation to any type of vehicle or alternative fuel, making the system particularly suitable for multi-brand networks. Finally, the automatic generation of a service report provides clear and actionable proof of effectiveness, useful for both professionals and their customers.<\/p>\n<h2>Technology used<\/h2>\n<p>The project is based on the Dunasys DCAR BT telematics unit, a robust and versatile device specifically designed for engine monitoring, real-time data collection and demanding maintenance environments.<\/p>\n<h2>Conclusion<\/h2>\n<p>This project demonstrates Dunasys\u2019s ability to support the energy transition through smart, on-board solutions tailored to the needs of the field.
