With the rise of Usage-Based Insurance (UBI), Pay-How-You-Drive, Pay-As-You-Drive models, and the widespread adoption of embedded telematics technologies (eCall, 4G/5G), Europe is entering the era of real-time data.
Dunasys anticipated this transformation. Leveraging our expertise in automotive telematics, we developed a dedicated solution for insurance providers: an intelligent connected device capable of transforming driving data into powerful tools for prevention, analysis, and customer engagement.
Project Objective
The objective of the Dunasys Telematics Insurance project is to create a device capable of:
- Collecting and analyzing driving data to enable fair and dynamic pricing;
- Automating claims reporting (FNOL – First Notification of Loss) with instant transmission to claims management systems;
- Reducing claims costs through AI-driven triage, routing, and fraud detection;
- Enhancing the customer experience through an intuitive mobile application, personalized scoring, and behavioral rewards.
The Dunasys Connect Insurance Solution
Available as a plug-and-play OBD-II device or as an OEM-integrated solution, the system combines:
- Multi-constellation GNSS and a 6-axis IMU for precise detection of impacts, maneuvers, and journeys;
- 4G/5G connectivity for instant data transmission;
- An optional camera system to reconstruct the context surrounding an accident.
Embedded AI and an Analytical Cloud Platform
The embedded intelligence detects key events and automatically triggers FNOL and assistance processes.
On the cloud side, behavioral AI classifies claims, identifies anomalies, adjusts insurance premiums, and powers the UBI engine. The API-first architecture enables seamless integration with insurers’ existing platforms.
