Dunacoach: from track performance to smart eco-driving

It all began on a racetrack.

A professional driving coach, Énigme Pilotage, wanted a bespoke device to help their students analyse their performance: racing lines, braking, acceleration and lap consistency.

To meet this need, Dunasys Telematics drew on its DCAR range to develop a solution specifically designed for sports driving.

But very quickly, an idea emerged: what if this technology, designed for performance, could also improve everyday driving?

From this insight came the Dunacoach, a device capable of transforming driving data into a smart eco-driving tool, combining performance, enjoyment and environmental responsibility.

Project Objective

The initial objective was to create a comprehensive driving analysis tool based on the real-time collection and processing of data such as speed, trajectory, braking, acceleration, and on-board camera footage.

The project soon took on a new dimension. By harnessing the wealth of data collected, Dunasys engineers developed artificial intelligence algorithms capable of identifying driving behaviours, detecting areas for improvement and offering personalised recommendations.

As a result, Dunacoach has become much more than a performance tool: a genuine driving coach, useful both on the track and on the road.

Solution developed by Dunasys Telematics

Based on the proven technologies of the DCAR E and DCAR S units, Dunacoach combines hardware, software and on-board intelligence:

• HD camera synchronised with sensor data (accelerometer, GPS, speed);
• Local and cloud processing to correlate information in real time;
• AI models to analyse driving style and assess performance or fuel efficiency;
• Intuitive mobile app (iOS & Android), displaying route, fuel consumption, eco-driving score and personalised advice.

Designed and manufactured in France, the unit is easily installed via an OBD II port or a dedicated interface.

Its open ecosystem allows it to integrate with fleet management, training or performance monitoring platforms.
